Here is my list of players who won’t necessarily take the league by
storm but will outperform their respective draft position. Again, value
is everything.
 Is this the year?
1. Jerious Norwood RB/ATL—Couple things make Norwood a dynamite
sleeper. For one Head coach Bobby Petrino comes in with a new blocking
scheme that favors the more powerful Norwood to that of the elusive
Warrick Dunn. Secondly, Dunn is coming off back surgery and as stated
is the smaller of the two backs. Norwood has the size and flat out
speed that Petrino likes so look for the transition from Dunn to
Norwood to be complete this season.
 Thomas Jones
2. Thomas Jones RB/NYJ—Again, another guy who is being picked anywhere
from 20-35 in mock drafts I’ve seen and that is simply too low. Jones
will have a chip on his shoulder after being dissed by the Bears and
traded. He also has a great offensive line in New York and will be
featured in the Jets more open attack. Look for better receiving
numbers and a top 15 fantasy season from TJ.
 Caddy
3. Carnell Williams RB/TB—Last year was a complete debacle for all
Bucs, Caddy was no exception. That awful season is part of the reason
he lands on this list. He is being taken way to low in drafts and will
have a nice bounce back season in Tampa. The Bucs signed Jeff Garcia
and added Giants LT Luke Pettigout to shore up the line. They also
drafted Aaron Sears to help inside. Grab Caddy as your third back and
watch him produce like a No. 2.
4. Chris Chambers WR/MIA—Chambers is a tough guy to figure out. I think
the main issue has been atrocious QB play around him throughout his
career. Enter Trent Green my friends. Chambers has been all but
forgotten in mock drafts and for that reason is a perfect selection for
you in the middle rounds. Look for more production from Chambers in the
red zone which means far more production for your club.
5. Santonio Holmes WR/PIT—Speed, speed, and more speed baby! Holmes is
the real deal and with a healthy Ro-banger at the helm and another year
under his belt in the league, Holmes will prosper as the Steelers up
and coming big play guy. Look for him to be a Santana Moss type player
who is being drafted like a legless dog.
6. Reggie Brown WR/PHI—Let’s see…Healthy McNabb, healthy Westbrook, and
a defined role as the No. 1 guy on the Eagles? Yeah I think brown is
better than his average selection in the 8th round would suggest. Mark
my words, this kid is big time and he had a nice connection with D-Mac
before he got hurt. Value pick.
7. Vincent Jackson WR/SD—Mr. Jackson has become the chic sleeper pick
but I cannot fight the experts. The guy had a part time role last
season and was a dynamite target for Phillip Rivers. Now with the
departure of Old man Keenan and the maturation of Rivers, Jackson is
set to post double digit TD figures.
8. Brandon Marshall WR/DEN—I call this guy TO Jr. and physically he is.
A complete specimen, Marshall is Cutlers favorite target and with Rod
Smith being put out to pasture, he stands to reap the benefits of
playing opposite Javon Walker. Love this kid. How he is ranked in the
120’s on most big boards is beyond me.
9. Ronald Curry WR/OAK—Hey, someone has to be the No.1 in Oakland
right? People just remember last season where Oakland’s offense was
impossible to watch but they are making a mistake. Curry is going
undrafted in some leagues and to me that is the laugher. Grab him late
and enjoy.
10. LenDale White RB/TEN—work with me here. I know they re-signed Chris
Brown and drafted Chris Henry…I get it. I know LenDale showed up fat
and out of shape. I get it. I also know Norm Chow loves this kid and he
has been getting ALL the first team reps. I’m taking a flier.
