Sometimes they take a player to glory, other times they cement him as mediocre...or worse.

Tonight was the stuff that legends are made of.

Lebron James please enjoy your new place amongst the true superstars of the league.

Games like tonight, along with games 3 and 4 in this series, are how you shake the "soft" stigma that guys like me throw at you.

Scoring 48 on the road in a massive Game 5 helps.

Scoring your teams last million points(25)...or just 29 out of 30...helps.

Scoring 25 straight helps.

Hitting huge buckets at every turn including end of regulation, overtime and the game winner...helps.

Please accept my humble apologies son, you have arrived.Tonight was better than great. It was Jordanesque.Image

This is the type of game you have to become a true superstar where guys like me never question you.

After Games 1 & 2 I rode Lebron...hard. HE had failed his team by either passing up the big shots or simply not making them.

All Lebron did was simply go out and dominate the next three games including tonights legendary performance.

Tonight was one of the great individual performances I have ever seen. PERIOD.

I can only offer my apologies and congratulations.

I will add this though...I was right about one thing. He needed to be aggressive. He needed to impose his will. He needed to be Lebron James.

You now see why I demanded it. god damn what did we just witness?

Greatness.

kainryu - This is why the Pistons can't Registered | 2007-06-01 01:09:13
Seeing the type of performance that Lebron put up tonight makes me more convinced than ever that the Pistons have little chance of winning a title this year and next to no chance going forward. Tonight is the night where you need a Superstar. The NBA, more than any other league is a league where one person makes the difference. Sure Lebron can't do this every night, but you only superhuman performances about once per series. The Pistons, while great, are only human. The Lebrons, Kobes, Wades and Duncans of the world will always win a close series because they can throw a team on their back at just the right moment to get them over the hump. Unless the Pistons can find a way to cash in on the Kobe sweepstakes, I see a lottery pick in the next three years. Let's just hope it's not another Darko, or we'll be looking at another decade before we get back to 2004.
