Never trade young pitching Despite not even getting 24 hours into the baseball off-season, the Tigers probably made their biggest move of the off-season when we are all said and done. So, before we get into the long and cold winter, I thought I’d throw in my two cents on the Edgar Renteria trade.

$$$ isn't why ARod won't be in the D JON PAUL MOROSI: Why A-Rod is too rich for the Tigers
Team would have to cut players

ARod = MVP Well, here we are, the baseball season is over and now it is time to give out the MLB regular season awards. Remember, this is who I would vote for and not who will win.
To decide this I will be using STATS. The reason I do so is because STATS are a measure of performance. I would just go off of what I watched during the season, but I didn’t watch every game. Even if I did, though, I would still use STATS because I may have forgotten a few things and my laptop, that has all of the STATS, doesn’t forget anything.

The 500-to-1 shot that happened During the extremely long Major League Baseball season, teams are routinely counted out prematurely by media-types. The Yankees were counted out by Jim Rome at the end of May. Then they went on a run and he said they were still alive. Then he stuck a fork in them again after a bad west coast road trip. Then they swept Boston in the Bronx and he said they were alive again. He should make up his mind.
Anyway, the scenario with the cross-town Metropolitans is very different. When you lead the division by seven games with seventeen to play (like the Mets did on September 12th), you have a 99.80% chance of making it and a 500-1 shot of blowing it (per BP Playoff Odds).

Joba > Gagne Were getting to the end of the MLB Season, I’ll have a playoff preview up for you soon. For now, the Yankees are two games back in the division to the Boston Red Sox.
One move that looms large in this entire ordeal is the Eric Gagne move for the Red Sox and the non-Gagne move for the Yankees.
