Happy Fourth of July everybody.
I figured today is a good time to bring up an issue that has bothered me.
It seems as if we are drifting apart as Americans again. We are
starting to fight and get upset and accuse one another of hate and
evil. We fought during the Don Imus incident. Detroit is once again
divided between city and suburbs and black and white. My email is
beginning to swell with I hate Detroit emails again.

Let
me make a confession. I don't know much about Rodney Stuckey, the
Pistons first choice in the NBA draft. I don't watch much Eastern
Washington University basketball. And to be honest I don't even know
where EWU is.
I've read the scouting reports but sometimes I don't trust
them. So now it becomes a matter of trust. Do you trust Pistons
President Joe Dumars in the NBA draft?

There
seems to be a lot of buzz about the Tigers being the best team in
baseball. I want to hold off on making that proclamation although it is

past two months even better. It must be scary trying to get through
Sheffield, Ordonez and Guillen four times a night. Opps. And did I
forget Placido Polanco again?

The Lions promised a different Shaun Rogers.
He'd be smarter and better. He would promote the team and become the player everybody expects.
One night changed that. Even if reports from the Detroit Police
Department are totally wrong my fear is Rogers will return to the
withdrawn, sometimes sullen player who will never reach his potential.
He is going to be a guy who leaves here filled with empty promises.

I received a phone call from a source from the Detroit Police Department that I trust.
If his story is true then it appears as if Lions defensive
tackle Shaun Rogers is in deep trouble and it is all going to come out
Monday. Rogers was interviewed Saturday at Ford Field for an incident
in a strip club where he was reportedly carrying a gun and touched a
stripper in a club called The Players Den on Detroit's west side.
