Games vs. North Carolina (Central), Wisconsin Preview

In this LikwidBlog we'll talk about the FGCU game and preview Michigan's final game before conference play and their first game in the Big Ten season against the Badgers of Wisconsin.


Florida Gulf Coast

Well, that game was whack. Michigan shot a dreadful 12-42 from 3-point land (compared to FGCU's 10-20) that allowed the Eagles to stick around. But with a late charge, the Wolverines were able to win going away 76-59.

This is a game Michigan potentially (probably) loses last year. FGCU made a strong change back in the second half, but the Wolverines, with four players in double figures, held on to win.


North Carolina Central

NCC is 0-14 this season, with a 47 point loss at South Carolina.

Yeah.

Wisconsin

For the Badgers, the Michigan game certainly will be a measuring stick for their ability this season.

Wisconsin has faced three top 25 teams (Texas, UConn, Marquette) this season, losing all three of those games. The rest of their schedule has been filled with big wins over the likes of Coppin State and Long Beach State.

The Badgers are going to need to win this game on the defensive end, which is something they are more then capable of doing.

The Badgers rank in the bottom 3 of the Big Ten in scoring, rebounding and assists.

I see Michigan winning a close one here, 67-60.


Season Outlook

Michigan finally got some national attention in the polls, jumping into the AP Top 25 at #24. Obviously, they will teeter on the brink of poll-dom for awhile as any loss will definitely drop them out of the top 25.
